Two women found themselves in a “complicated” situation during their hotel stay because of an unusual bathroom setup.
The moment was captured in a video posted by @skyozd and has amassed 8 million views since it was shared on August 5.
The footage shows a hotel room with a shower cubicle, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass walls, that offers no privacy.

A note overlaid on the video reads “On a girls trip with bestie but can someone please explain how we are supposed to shower? We’re close friends but not that close!!!”
A caption shared with the post simply asks: “What do we do?”
The viral post comes as hotel occupancy in the U.S. is expected to reach 63.6 percent this year, marking “a significant improvement” over 2020’s historic low of 43.8 percent during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the 2024 State of the Industry report by the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

The AHLA report also found that guest spending at U.S. hotels is projected to hit a record high in 2024 at $758.61 billion, marking a significant jump from spending levels in 2019 ($612.86 billion) and 2020 ($342.86 billion).
According to the AHLA report, friendliness and cleanliness continue to be “essential to positive guest experiences.” When consumers were asked what steps hotels should take to ensure that their guests enjoy a positive experience, they “ranked guestroom cleanliness, property cleanliness, and friendly staff as the most important factors.”

Travel is forecast to reach “record highs” this year, with global tourism spending forecast to hit U.S. $2 trillion, as noted in a December 2023 survey by Euromonitor International, the market research firm.
According to an October report by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), total passenger demand in August was up 8.6 percent compared with the same month last year, while the August load factor, which is the percentage of available seats an airline sells on its flights, was 86.2 percent, marking a record high.
TikTok users were amused by the unexpected predicament captured in the viral post.
Natalie asked: “Why do hotels always make showers so complicated.”
MasqueradeMoon said: “I don’t think ya’ll besties then” and @user68368026 wrote “yall reached the girls trip stage but ya’ll aren’t THAT close??”
Amber defended the poster, writing: “Everyone saying ‘y’all not real besties’ as if wanting privacy suddenly means you aren’t real best friends?? That’s so strange.”
User @frida.sxf said: “Time to get closer,” and Gremlin agreed, saying: “opportunity to get closer.” The original poster replied: “Firm pass from me.”
